Description
To build TMPC, Metric Halo captured and lovingly modeled the unique signal path character of Terrace Martin’s MPC3000. Terrace is an 8 time Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist, rapper, singer, and record producer known for his work with Kendrick Lamar, Herbie Hancock, Snoop Dogg, Stevie Wonder, the Game, Busta Rhymes, Charlie Wilson, Raphael Saadiq and YG as well as his own Grammy-nominated productions.
He has made the MPC a key part of his production process. This device has long been valued for its distinctive 16-bit converter sound, which imparts a unique character and impact often described as « knock » to drums and samples. Designed for songwriters, producers, musicians, beat makers, multi-instrumentalist and anyone who wants to take a Jazz song and turn it into Hip Hop. Easily add that hip hop knock and finely controllable layered distortion and character to everything from drums, bass, to vocals, as if it was sampled that way right at the source.
