The Micro-Pipes by Ross are an affordable practice chanter that electronically reproduces the sound of the Standard Great highland Bagpipe chanter scale, in the key of « B flat » (A=470Hz) without drone accompaniment. The notes are played in a very realistic manner by covering electronic touch sensors, positioned to exactly match the finger spacing of a regular pipe chanter. You can increase or lower the volume of the unit to suit your requirements. This unit takes 2 AAA batteries.
The compact, lightweight MicroPipes works with standard stereo headphones, and does not contain a built-in speaker.
Power is automatically turned on when the unit is picked up and any note is played. After approximately 3 minutes of non-use (hi A or no fingers on the chanter), the unit powers itself down to conserve battery life.
